Streetlight and Sign Upgrades
Posted on Dec 23rd, 2009
Special update from Skip King:
We are getting closer to upgrading all of
our street lights and street signs in our
community with the delivery of most of
the materials about eight weeks away.
Skip King and Tom Coffin are planning
work parties made up of kids (supervisors)
and parents (laborers) for the
installation of the street signs and are
looking for ALL the supervisors in our
community to play a role.
The work will likely consume a few
Saturdays in February or March which
will end with a campfire and/or cookout
for each work day. The work task will be
based on age of the supervisor and
complexity to the task and in the end will
give kids of all ages a chance to
participate in a major community
project. Teens who volunteer will
receive letters noting the community
service hours they have performed.
Skip will be borrowing his Mom’s
antique farm tractor to help drill the
holes in the ground and the Baldwin’s
trailer to haul the gravel and materials
around the neighborhood. Look at it like
a hay ride, except with building
materials. More announcements will
follow in the next few weeks. This
project is guaranteed to build some
memories!
